Solar Company Will Pay $350,000 To Settle EEOC National Origin Bias Suit

Mealey's (January 30, 2020, 9:26 AM EST) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in California on Jan. 14 issued an order approving a consent decree between a solar company accused of refusing sales calls to and from individuals identified as of Middle Eastern and Indian descent and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission whereby the company will pay $350,000 to a former employee of Afghan descent who was allegedly subjected to a hostile work environment as a result of the behavior (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, et al. v. Fidelity Home Energy, Inc., et al., No. 19-1231, N.D. Calif.)....
