$15 Million Punitive Award For Power Line Death Reversed By Florida Appeals Court

(November 4, 2019, 7:22 PM EST) -- LAKELAND, Fla. — A Florida appeals court on Oct 25 affirmed a $12.5 million damage award for the death of a teenager who was electrocuted when the bamboo stalk he was climbing touched a power line.  But it reversed the $15 million punitive damage award against the utility because there was no evidence that the vegetation manager for the area was a “managing agent” of the company (Tricia Dominguez v.
