Illinois Federal Judge Dismisses 2 Doctors From Medical Negligence Suit

(January 24, 2017, 12:40 PM EST) -- CHICAGO — A federal judge in Illinois on Jan. 23 dismissed claims against a prisoner’s doctor and the medical chief of the Illinois State Prison System accused of deliberate indifference after finding that the medical chief did not have any direct involvement with the treatment of the prisoner and that the prisoner’s doctor chose to disregard the risks of inserting a pacemaker in the patient (Richard Schlueter v.
