No Coverage Due For Suit Alleging Damages Caused By Sewage Odors, S.C. Panel Says

(April 19, 2016, 11:55 AM EDT) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. — A pollution exclusion bars coverage for offensive odors emitted by a sewage pipe because the odors can be classified as “fumes” or “gases,” both of which are listed in the pollution exclusion, the South Carolina Court of Appeals said March 23 in affirming that no coverage is owed for an underlying suit filed against a school district (South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund v.
