$16.75 Million Awarded By Washington Jury To 3 Railroad Crash Plaintiffs

Mealey's (September 23, 2019, 7:29 PM EDT) -- TACOMA, Wash. — In a trial against Amtrak on compensatory damages alone, a Washington jury on Sept. 13 awarded $7 million to a man who was seriously injured when a derailed train car fell from a bridge onto the truck he was riding in and $2 million to his wife.  It also awarded $7.75 million to a passenger on the train (Blaine Wilmotte, et al. v. National Railroad Passenger Corp., No. 18-00086; Dale Skyllingstad v. National Railroad Passenger Corp., No. 18-06848, W.D. Wash.)....
