Mealey's (September 23, 2019, 7:29 PM EDT) -- TACOMA, Wash. — In a trial against Amtrak on compensatory damages alone, a Washington jury on Sept. 13 awarded $7 million to a man who was seriously injured when a derailed train car fell from a bridge onto the truck he was riding in and $2 million to his wife.
