Boeing, Rolls Royce Say Judge Can't Depose Witnesses Residing Out Of District

Mealey's (September 21, 2020, 9:16 AM EDT) -- CHARLESTON, S.C. — Two companies tell a South Carolina federal judge in a Sept. 4 brief that the court lacks statutory authority pursuant to 28 U.S. Code Section 1782 to grant an application to depose two witnesses not currently located in South Carolina for use in a $12.8 million arbitration in the U.K. arising from a Boeing 787 Dreamliner tailpipe fire and said neither witness satisfies the test for "minimum contacts" with the district (In re:  Servotronics Inc., No. 18-mc-364, D.
