Artery Device Maker Pays $8M To Resolve Physician Kickback Allegations

(July 12, 2016, 9:58 AM EDT) -- CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cardiovascular Systems Inc. has agreed to pay $8 million to resolve civil allegations that it paid kickbacks to physicians to use its arthrectomy device, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina said in a June 29 press release (United States of America, ex rel. Travis Thams v. Cardiovascular Systems Inc., No. 13-404, W.D. N.C.).
