11th Circuit: Musician’s Security Guard Is Owed Overtime, Liquidated Damages
(July 7, 2016, 11:13 AM EDT) -- ATLANTA — A musician’s personal security guard was clearly an employee under the terms of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is owed overtime wages, liquidated damages and attorney fees, an 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel ruled June 10, affirming a trial court’s ruling (Everitte Quarles v. Garrett Hamler, No. 15-13824, 11th Cir.; 2016 U.S. App. LEXIS 10539).
