Mealey's (June 21, 2016, 1:32 PM EDT) -- BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An employer’s failure to timely notify a nurse of the termination of her employment and health insurance made it impossible to enroll in Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage, costing her $17,000 in medical expenses, the nurse alleges in a federal suit filed June 16 (Patricia Anyachebelu v. Brooklyn Hospital Center, et al., No. 16-3159, E.D. N.Y.).
