Study: Earthquakes In Ohio In 2013 Related To Fracking

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 4:07 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A scientific publication that focuses on seismological issues on Nov. 4, 2014, published a study by researchers who contend that they have evidence that hydraulic fracturing was the cause of earthquakes in Ohio.

The publication Seismological Research Letters published the findings of Paul A. Friberga, Glenda M. Besana-Ostmanbl and Ilya Drickera.


The researchers contend that they have “the first evidence of positive magnitude earthquakes on a previously unmapped fault in Harrison County, Ohio, that can be related to a hydraulic fracture operation.”...
