Water Authority Says DuPont ‘Distorted’ Science On PFAS In Case Sent To AFFF MDL

(March 14, 2023, 12:32 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on March 13 transferred four cases to the multidistrict litigation for the firefighting agent known as aqueous film forming foam (AFFF), which now has 3,704 active cases.  In one of the cases, which is representative of the others, a municipal water authority says E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. “downplayed and distorted the science” on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in AFFF, leading to pollution of the local watershed....
