Couple: Fracking Company Not Entitled To New Trial In Texas; $2.9M Verdict Valid

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:39 PM EDT) -- DALLAS — The Texas couple who won a $2.9 million judgment against a hydraulic fracturing company filed a brief in state court on Aug. 29, 2014, opposing the company’s motion for new trial, contending that the company cannot show prejudice from the jury and it cannot demonstrate that the award is “manifestly unjust” (Lisa Parr, et al. v. Aruba Petroleum Inc., No. 11-1650, Texas Law No. 5, Dallas Co.).
