Montana Federal Judge Won’t Give Tribes Declaratory Order About Reservation Water

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 1:15 PM EDT) -- MISSOULA, Mont. — A Montana federal judge on May 28 dismissed a lawsuit by two Native American tribes that sought a declaration about their tribal water rights and an injunction against state court judges overseeing cases involving tribal water (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes v. United States Department of Interior Secretary Sarah “Sally” Jewell, et al., No. 14-44, D. Mont., Missoula Div.).
