Emergency Regulation Proposed To Protect Fish Species Along California’s Russian River

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 12:55 PM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An emergency regulation being considered by California’s Water Resources Control Board would prohibit new groundwater wells or surface water diversions affecting 13,000 properties on 113 square miles in the Russian River watershed in order to provide enough water to protect Central California Coast coho salmon and steelhead, the board announced June 9.
