Judge Denies Class Status For Landowners In Fracking Royalty Dispute
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 10:15 AM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A federal judge in New Mexico on March 19 ruled that based on precedent in the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, he was bound to deny a group of plaintiffs class certification in their royalty dispute against a group of hydraulic fracturing companies (The Anderson Living Trust f/k/a The James H. Anderson Living Trust, et al. v. WPX Energy Production LLC, et al., No. 12-0040, D. N.M.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 37256).
