Texas Seeks To Stay Injunction Of Executive Order Banning Mask Mandates

Mealey's (November 19, 2021, 9:45 AM EST) -- AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Nov. 11 moved to stay a permanent injunction issued by a Texas federal judge blocking the enforcement of a Texas executive order preventing school districts from imposing mask mandates.  The lawsuit was brought by several public-school students with disabilities and underlying medical conditions challenging the executive order as in conflict with and preempted by federal disabilities laws....
