Notre Dame Asks 7th Circuit To Rehear Contraception Case

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 9:45 AM EDT) -- CHICAGO — The majority of a Seventh Circuit panel erroneously ignored precedent applying the “substantial burden” test in a challenge to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) contraceptive mandate and instead “parsed” a university’s beliefs, the University of Notre Dame argues in an April 4, 2104, petition for rehearing en banc (University of Notre Dame v. Kathleen Sebelius, et al., No. 13-3853, 7th Cir.; 2014 U.S. App. LEXIS 3326.).
