Official: Less Than Half Of Georgia ACA Enrollees Paid Premiums

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 9:29 AM EDT) -- ATLANTA — Less than half of the 221,604 Georgia residents who signed up for insurance through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)’s federal exchange paid their premium by the close of enrollment, Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens announced April 17.

The 107,581 policies represent approximately 48.5 percent of the signups through the site and covers 149,465 Georgia residents, according to Hudgens. Of those, 104,242 will receive a federal subsidy, according to Hudgens.
