Jury Awards $14 Million To Widow Of Man Who Died From Cigarette Addiction

PETERSBURG, Fla. — A Florida jury on Feb. 13 awarded $5 million in punitive damages to the widow of a man who died from lung cancer caused by smoking cigarettes, bringing the total award to $14 million (Ina Ahrens v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., et al. No. 11005826CI, Fla. Cir., Pinellas Co.).
