Vermont Argues That Appeals Court Erred In Remanding Dispute Over Patent Notices
(January 14, 2016, 11:07 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — An appellate court erroneously ruled that a lawsuit alleging violations of the Vermont Consumer Protection Act (VCPA) in connection with letters sent by one defendant corporation to other corporations alleging patent infringement should not have been removed to federal court, the State of Vermont argues in a Dec. 28 petition for writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court (State of Vermont v. MPHJ Technology Investments LLC, No. 15-838, U.S. Sup.).
