Split 6th Circuit Upholds Bodily Integrity Claim In Flint Water Crisis Case

(May 27, 2020, 1:49 PM EDT) -- CINCINNATI — A divided panel of the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on May 22 denied motions to dismiss the Flint lead-contaminated water crisis complaint against state and local officials, except for State Treasurer Andy Dillon, ruling that the residents who claim that they were poisoned have plausibly alleged that the defendants violated their right to bodily integrity when the city began receiving its water supply from the Flint River (Luke Waid, et al. v. Richard Snyder, et al. [In re: Flint Water Cases], Nos. 19-1425, 19-1472, 19-1477, 19-1533, [consolidated] 6th Cir.), 2020 U.S. App. LEXIS 16437)....
