Deficiencies Identified, Dismissal Granted In No Braille Gift Cards Suit

Mealey's (April 28, 2020, 7:35 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A federal judge in New York on April 23 dismissed a class suit accusing a retailer of discrimination for failure to offer Braille gift cards, ruling that deficiencies exist, including that, in a matter the judge noted was one of first impression, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) doesn’t require a business to stock a specialty item and the lead plaintiff “knows nothing about the range of auxiliary aids and services” the retailer offers (Yovanny Dominguez, et al. v.
