Bair Hugger Infection Case Survives Dismissal Before MDL Transfer

(January 6, 2016, 11:45 AM EST) -- BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An Alabama federal judge on Dec. 3 denied dismissal of a Bair Hugger infection case before transferring the case to the newly created multidistrict litigation for the device (James Rhoton, et al. v. 3M Company, et al., No. 15-1306, N.D. Ala., Southern Div.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 162114).

James Rhoton underwent surgery in which a Bair Hugger Forced Air Warming system was used. Rhoton developed a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection.
