Jury Orders City To Pay $1.2M, Says 192 Water Customers Belonged To Rural District

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:33 AM EDT) -- OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma federal jury on Nov. 11, 2014, ruled that a rural water district rather than the City of Guthrie should be providing water service to residents outside city limits and ordered the city to pay $1.2 million in damages (Rural Water, Sewer and Solid Waste Management District No. 1, Logan County, Oklahoma v. City of Guthrie, et al., No. 05-786, W.D. Okla.).
