2 Minors Covered Under Indian Child Welfare Act, California Appeals Court Rules

Mealey's (June 16, 2015, 4:23 PM EDT) -- VENTURA, Calif. — A California appeals court on Feb. 24 reversed a juvenile court’s decision to terminate parental rights to two minor children after receiving confirmation that the children are of Eskimo descent entitled to protections as Native American children under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) (Ventura County Human Services Agency v. B.G., et al., No. B255712, Calif. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 6; 2015 Cal. App. LEXIS 173).
