Louisiana Federal Judge:Exxon Mobil Did Not Violate Mineral Servitude Obligation

Mealey's (June 16, 2015, 3:01 PM EDT) -- NEW ORLEANS — The federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana presiding over a field legacy contamination lawsuit brought by landowners on June 4, 2014, ruled that Exxon Mobil Corp. did not violate its mineral servitude obligations when it drilled for oil and gas (Catherine P. Alford, et al. v. Chevron USA Inc., et al., No. 13-5457, E.D. La.).
