Judge Preliminarily OKs Class Settlement That Changes Jani-King Franchisee Terms

Mealey's (May 14, 2019, 2:10 PM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — A federal judge on May 10 preliminarily approved an unopposed class action settlement agreement that requires Jani-King to pay $3.7 million and change its business practices to eliminate various controls it had over franchisees in Pennsylvania who are part of the settlement and continue to do business with the janitorial services franchisor (Pamela Myers, et al. v. Jani-King of Philadelphia, Inc., et al., No. 2:09cv1738, E.D. Pa., 2019 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 79572)....
