Mealey's (October 26, 2018, 1:01 PM EDT) -- PASADENA, Calif. — A class suit under the Alien Tort Statute (ATS) by former child slaves against cocoa bean manufacturers, purchasers, processors and retail sellers was reinstated Oct. 23 by a Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel, which ruled that the landscape on which the plaintiffs constructed their claims changed with Jesner v.
