Delaware Judge Holds Franchisor Could Be Liable For Employee’s Conduct

(October 22, 2018, 12:06 PM EDT) -- NEW CASTLE, Del. — A Delaware judge on Oct. 15 partially granted a motion filed by a real estate franchisor to dismiss claims asserted against it in relation to the alleged fraudulent acts of its real estate broker but allowed some causes of action to proceed after holding that the broker’s alleged actions occurred while he was employed by the franchisor and that it could be vicariously liable for the broker’s conduct (Samir Patel, et al. v.
