Government Tells Top Court ACA’s Intent Supports Subsidies For All

Mealey's (June 15, 2015, 3:36 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — In offering subsidies to individuals who purchased insurance through the federal exchange, the Internal Revenue Service merely read the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) as one would expect given the law’s goals, the government told the U.S. Supreme Court on Jan. 21 (David King, et al. v. Sylvia Mathew Burwell, et al., No. 14-114, U.S. Sup.).
