Judge Dismisses General Contractor’s Insurer’s Suit Over Duty To Defend

(March 13, 2018, 11:42 AM EDT) -- CHARLESTON, S.C. — A federal judge in South Carolina on Feb. 22 dismissed without prejudice a declaratory judgment lawsuit brought by a general contractor’s insurance company, holding that there is no controversy as to whether its insured is an additional insured to policies issued by insurers for a number of subcontractors (FCCI Insurance Co. v. Island Pointe LLC, et al., No. 17-cv-1976-RMG, D. S.C., 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 28303).
