California Federal Judge Issues $4 Million Fee Award In Patent Dispute

(September 11, 2015, 4:18 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — Although slightly less than what was requested by a prevailing patent infringement defendant, a California federal judge on Sept. 4 nonetheless issued a sizable award of attorney fees in the amount of $4.1 million (Universal Electronics Inc. v. Universal Remote Control Inc., No. 12-329, C.D. Calif.).
