Winn-Dixie, Blind Patron Debate ADA Applicability To Websites In 11th Circuit

(January 16, 2018, 3:36 PM EST) -- ATLANTA — In a Dec. 27 reply brief, Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. argues to the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals that a complaint over its website’s purported inaccessibility to visually impaired customers should have been dismissed by a trial court because websites do not constitute places of public accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. v. Juan Carlos Gil, No. 17-13467, 11th Cir.).
