Insurer Fights Order To Pay For Preventive Repairs After Fires

(September 1, 2015, 7:12 PM EDT) -- NEW ORLEANS — The Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Aug. 24 tentatively scheduled oral arguments for the week of Nov. 2 in an appeal filed by an insurer seeking to be relieved of the responsibility to pay for preventive repairs to the duct work in a condominium complex where faulty duct work has been blamed for six fires (Houston Specialty Insurance Company v. Meadows West Condo Association, et al., No. 15-30140, 5th Cir.).
