Government Report Shows 30 Percent Of ACA Contracts Exceed Budget

Mealey's (June 12, 2015, 4:30 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — One in three government contracts related to the development and operation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) federal exchange exceeded the total estimated value of the entire contract by February 2014, according to an Aug. 26, 2014, report.

Seven of those contracts had exceeded their estimated value by more than 100 percent, according to the report, issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General.
