Liquidator Tells Court That Reinsurance Commutations Are Largely Complete

(August 27, 2015, 9:40 AM EDT) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — The liquidator of an insurer in liquidation since 2003 reported to a Pennsylvania court on Aug. 13 that her efforts to commutate reinsurance assets will be mostly completed this year (In re: Legion Insurance Company [In Liquidation], No. 1 LEG 2002, Pa. Cmwlth.).

The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court ordered Legion Insurance Co. into liquidation in July 2003 and appointed the state’s insurance commissioner as liquidator.
