Judge Rejects Claim By Former InterMune CEO Of Ineffective Counsel In Conviction

(August 26, 2015, 3:20 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A decision by lawyers for the former CEO of the former biotech company InterMune Inc. not to put their own experts on the stand during a wire fraud/misbranding trial does not constitute ineffective counsel, a California federal judge ruled Aug. 21 (United States of America v. W. Scott Harkonen, No. 08-cr-164, N.D. Calif.).
