Divided Pennsylvania House Committee Passes Bill Expanding ACA Medicaid Access

Mealey's (June 12, 2015, 8:58 AM EDT) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — A deeply divided Pennsylvania House of Representative committee on June 4, 2014, staved off attempts to derail legislation expanding Medicaid eligibility under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

In a 12-11 vote, the House Committee on Human Services reported the bill as amended.

Subsequent measures seeking to re-refer the bill to another committee and to adjourn the committee meeting until July 1 without voting on House Bill 1492 failed on 11-12 and 11-13 votes.
