Judge: Insurer Has Duty To Defend Cosby Under Massachusetts, California Law

Mealey's (November 11, 2016, 11:14 AM EST) -- SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — A Massachusetts federal judge on Nov. 8 found that under either Massachusetts or California law, William H. Cosby Jr.'s homeowners and excess insurer has a duty to defend him against underlying defamation lawsuits arising from sexual assault claims (AIG Property Casualty Co. v. Tamara Green, et al., No. 15-30111, D. Mass.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 154881).
