9th Circuit To Rehear Challenge To Arizona Ballot Collection Law

Mealey's (November 4, 2016, 1:35 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — An en banc panel of the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals will decide by Election Day whether to halt a new Arizona law that makes it a felony to collect absentee ballots from voters for delivery to a polling place, according to a Nov. 2 order in which five judges filed a dissent and another filed a concurring opinion, saying the en banc court should put a stop to the law due to the “significant burdens” it places on Native Americans, Hispanics and blacks (Leslie Feldman, et al. v.
