Divided 9th Circuit Upholds Denial Of Injunction To Stop Arizona Voting Law

(November 1, 2016, 10:51 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A federal court properly denied a preliminary injunction to halt a new Arizona law that makes it a felony to collect absentee ballots from voters for delivery to a polling place, the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals held Oct. 28, though with a strongly worded dissent by one judge who said the result of the law will be the disenfranchisement of most of the state’s Native Americans, Hispanics and blacks (Leslie Feldman, et al. v.
