Federal Agencies, Groups Argue Fracking Rule Proper Under Mineral Leasing Laws

Mealey's (October 10, 2016, 10:27 AM EDT) -- DENVER — Federal agencies and environmental groups on Oct. 7 filed briefs in the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals arguing that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has the authority to regulate hydraulic fracturing activity as it pertains to leases involving federal land (State of Wyoming, et al. v. Sally Jewell, et al., No. 16-8068, 10th Cir.).
