Insurer Seeks Reversal Of Multiplier Awarded To Insured’s Attorneys In Sinkhole Suit

(September 22, 2016, 1:49 PM EDT) -- LAKELAND, Fla. — A homeowners insurer has asked a Florida appeals court to reverse a lower court’s ruling that applied a 2.0 multiplier to a $111,420.50 attorney fee award in a bad faith lawsuit arising from sinkhole damage (State Farm v. Terry Hunt, No. 15-1016, Fla. App., 2nd Dist.).
