Judge Rejects Challenge To New Mexico, 4 Tribes’ Water Rights Settlement

Mealey's (September 22, 2016, 7:51 AM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico federal judge on Sept. 9 denied a motion to alter or amend judgment in a New Mexico-Native American water settlement on the grounds that the state Legislature and not the state attorney general must approve the pact (State of New Mexico, ex rel. State Engineer v. R. Lee Aamodt, et al., No. 66-6639, D. N.M.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 122658).
