British Citizen Denied U.S. Visa Sues FBI, DHS For Privacy Act Violations

(September 19, 2016, 1:47 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A British citizen and businessman sued several U.S. governmental agencies in District of Columbia federal court on Sept. 15, alleging that misinformation about his purported ties to terrorism was improperly shared with a reporter and the U.S. State Department, harming his reputation and leading to his being denied a U.S. visa (Gilbert Ramez Chagoury v. Federal Bureau of Investigation, No. 1:16-cv-01844, D. D.C.).
