Banking Defendants In NECC Outbreak Won’t Face Victim Impact Statements

(September 14, 2016, 11:30 AM EDT) -- BOSTON — Victims of the 2012 fungal meningitis outbreak will not be allowed to submit victim impact statements when two principals of the defunct New England Compounding Center (NECC) are sentenced for illegal bank transfers, a Massachusetts federal judge ruled Aug. 18 (United States of America v. Carla R. Conigliaro, et al., No. 14-10363, D. Mass.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 110020).
