Judge Partially Grants Temporary Restraining Order In Dakota Pipeline Dispute

(September 7, 2016, 3:19 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The federal judge in the District of Columbia presiding over a dispute between builders of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAP) and an Indian tribe on Sept. 6 partially granted the tribe’s request for a temporary restraining order, which stops only some construction of the DAP pending resolution of the tribe’s opposition to construction of the entire pipeline (Standing Rock Sioux Tribe v. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, No. 16-1534, D. D.C.).
