California Judge Won’t Stop Brackish Water Project By County Water District
(August 8, 2016, 12:08 PM EDT) -- SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — A California state judge on July 27 denied a petition for a writ of mandamus by an anti-development nonprofit organization that challenged the emergency approval of a brackish water treatment facility, saying that the group missed a deadline and that California’s drought qualifies as an emergency (Landwatch San Luis Obispo County v. Cambria County Services District, et al., No. 14CVP-0258, Calif. Super., San Luis Obispo Co., Paso Robles Branch).
