Public Interest Group Asks FTC To Investigate Privacy Concerns Over Pokémon GO
Mealey's (July 27, 2016, 1:04 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) on July 22 filed a letter with the Federal Trade Commission, asking it to investigate data-collection practices related to the popular game Pokémon GO, which it asserts are “almost certainly in violation of the [FTC’s] earlier consumer privacy decisions” and pose “an enormous security risk to millions of Internet users who downloaded the [Pokémon GO] app.
