Monsanto: Evidence Glyphosate Causes Cancer Is Not Reliable

(March 15, 2018, 2:08 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — Monsanto Co. on March 13 filed nine answers to individual cases in the multidistrict litigation for the herbicide Roundup, arguing that claims that glyphosate, the herbicide’s active ingredient, causes cancer are barred and that the plaintiffs cannot show “any scientifically reliable evidence” that Roundup is “defective or unreasonably dangerous” (In re: Roundup Products Liability Litigation [Gwendolyn Wilson, et al. v.
